Kid Librarian Program
The Kid Librarian program is available to all children age 12 and under. Kid Librarians will create a display at the library of books that they recommend to other kids! Displays will remain up for two weeks at a time.
Interested children (or parents!) can pick up an application from the library at any time. If selected, library staff will contact the parent or guardian of the child to set up a time that they can come into the library to set up their display. We will be requiring a parent or guardian to accompany the child as they set up their display. Options for photo consent are located on the application. Photos will only be used on the child's display and/or Toole County Library social media at the discretion of a parent or guardian.

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten
The 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten challenge is available to all children that have not yet begun kindergarten. Students who read 1,000 books with their parents will get prizes at different milestones and will get a T-Shirt once they reach 1,000! Students will also have their name on the wall of our children's room to help them track their progress. Please contact library staff if you are interested in participating in the program with your child!
Preschool Story Time
Story time for preschool children is held at the library Thursdays from 10-11 a.m. September through June. Group craft projects are also available after the story readings and are provided by the library. Our June Story Times will feature a special program for summer reading!

Dolly Parton's Imagination Library
In 1995, Dolly Parton launched an exciting new effort, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, to benefit the children of her home county in East Tennessee, USA. Dolly’s vision was to foster a love of reading among her county’s preschool children and their families. The new program gave each child a specially selected book each month. By mailing high quality, age appropriate books directly to their homes, Dolly wanted children to be excited about books and to feel the magic that books can create. Moreover, she could ensure that every child would have books, regardless of their family’s income.
This program is free to residents of Toole County courtesy of Friend's of the Library! To get your child registered, visit us during our usual operating hours.
